Hi! I'm Dr. Leia Jobe Brown.

I started my career as a journalist, working as a writer and photographer for a daily newspaper. Then, after completing a master’s level degree in photography, I opened my own portrait business. Since then I’ve brought a journalistic style to my bright, artistic photography and offered clients a variety of services from aerial photography via helicopters for a roofing company to headshots for nonprofits. I’ve also been hired to photograph weddings, funerals, births, large family reunion groups, newborns, seniors, blended families, cats, dogs, highland cows, birthday parties, and individual and family portraits in pretty much every setting imaginable: backlit by stained glass inside old churches, in abandoned fields, busy downtown streets, backyards, and client homes.

After 10 years as a full time portrait photographer, I earned a doctorate in education and spent 6 years working as a teacher and administrator in low income urban schools. Now, with my own baby boy at home, I am returning to offer portrait sessions for select clients. Currently I am available for newborn, child, and family sessions in Aledo and the greater Fort Worth area.
